It also identifies the most abandoned mode of transport. Accordingly, Minibusrnwas the highest preferred mode while Anbessa bus was found to be the mode most individualsrndon’t want to use. rnUsing a survey sample of 391, MNL model is used to analyze travelers’ mode choice behavior. Arnstatistical package, Stata 14, was used to develop the model. Based on the result; sex (withrnsignificance of 10% for Anbessa bus and 5% for LRT), monthly individual income (withrnsignificance of 1% for Higre bus and 5% for both Anbessa bus and LRT), daily trip frequencyrn(with a significance of 1% for Higer bus and LRT), travel time, access time, waiting time and costrnby distance (with significance level of 1% of the later four variables) were found to affect modernchoice of public transport. Policy implications like subsidize Anbessa buses, improve its comfortrnand security and increase spatial expansion are drawn in order to increase use of large size publicrntransports.
