This study was designed to examine the relationship of aspectsrnof social competence and background variables to academicrnperformance. Two hundred twelve (111 - males and 101 - females)rnseventh grade students were subjects of the study. Peerrnbehavioral nomination, sociometric assessment, socialrnresponsibility goal scale and teacher made test were used asrnmeasuring instruments.
