To identify critical issues of concern to migrant returnees up on arrival at Bole InternationalrnAirport and to determine the extent of their vulnerability, this study has been analyzing thernsituation and examined the challenges the service providing organizations encountered whenrnproviding assistance to migrant returnees; their perspective on the challenges that victimsrnconfront when attempting to access services; and the interventions implemented by providers sornfar. Qualitative research approach was employed using semi- structured interview andrnobservation as main instruments for collecting required data from the study participants.rnAccordingly interview was held with 20 migrant returnees and three representatives of servicernproviders. The study disclosed that most of the migrant returnees interviewed swamped withrnhopelessness added with the painful experience they had in the Middle East. Most of them facedrnabuse in various forms. Labour abuse was the leading form of abuse followed by verbal, rnphysical, sexual abuse and discrimination based on color. Too sad to say, but the only means ofrngetting justice for all forms of abuse is deportation either voluntarily or forced. With this factrnwhen they reach to their country with ample grief and pain there is no formal system to supportrnthem unless they have very critical problem which prevent them from leaving the terminal inrnBole International Airport or mass influxes as it was seen from Saudi Arabia for massrndeportation. There are two organizations working to support these migrant with limited humanrnand financial resource capacity. They are trying their best with focus for those who have arnmental health problem. It seems that no one is there for male returnees and for non mental healthrnproblem victim migrants. Generally speaking the attention given for migrant returnees fromrngovernment side lacks formal systems and structure to include them starting from their arrivalrnwhich needs due attentions to mitigate the problem and can be taken as a lesson so thatrnprevention could be augmented based on lessons from returnees painful experiences.
