In recent years, the advancement of information technology and the use of the internet havernbrought a new dimension of research on the uses of social networking sites and theirrnrelationship with different psychological constructs. But, still the relationship remains in arncontroversial and inconsistent of findings. This study examines the relationship betweenrnFacebook use, self-esteem and life satisfaction among students. Samples of 248 participants (151rnfemale and 97 male), aged between 17 to 32 years of university students were selected. The studyrnused Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (SES), the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and FacebookrnIntensity Scale (FBI). Pearson product moment correlation and independent t-test werernemployed for the analysis. The results showed that there was a very weak relation betweenrnFacebook use and self-esteem and a weak positive association between Facebook use and lifernsatisfaction. In addition, no gender difference was found in Facebook intensity, self-esteem andrnlife satisfaction among students.
