Accident occurred unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury.rnCompelling evidence has shown that motor vehicle accidents have an enormous impact on mentalrnhealth. The study assessed the psychological impact of road traffic accident victims. Mixed studyrndesigns were used. The data were collected from 99 traffic accident victims who were on followrnup treatment at Black lion hospital orthopedic OPD, using convenient sampling technique. SPSSrnversions 25 used for analyzing the data. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II) and PTSD checklistrn(PCL) used to collect the data and structured interview used to get qualitative data from selectedrnvictims. The collected data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Thernfindings of the study show majority of the participant experienced high level of PTSD mean scorern50.879 and moderate levels depression 23.484 in order to see the difference among victims of roadrntraffic accidents in the psychological impacts based on sociodemographic background t-test wasrncomputed.
