The purpose of this study was to assess the prevalence of psychological distress and copingrnmechanisms among internally displaced returnees in Yaso district, Benishangul Gumuz RegionalrnState. Descriptive cross-sectional study design was employed. Data were collected usingrn(Kessler-10, Post traumatic stress-Checklist 5(PCL-5) and Brief Coping-28) from 378rnparticipants recruited with simple random sampling techniques. Statistical Package for SocialrnScience (SPSS) version 20 was used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics like mean andrnpercentage were used to summarize the characteristics of participants and findings. To look thernassociation between trauma and distress, Pearson correlation and linear regression was alsornemployed.
