The purpose of the study was to examine the Psychological problems faced by Eritrean and Somali rnrefugees in Addis Ababa. The research followed a quantitative design. Data were collected from 152 rn(94 male and 58 female) randomly selected urban refugees through adapted instruments of Perceived rnStress Scale, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Loneliness Scale, Generalized Anxiety rnScale and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). Descriptive and inferential rnstatistics were used to analyze the data. The result showed that most Eritrean and Somali urban rnrefugees face anxiety, stress, depression and loneliness. It was found that there was no statistically rnsignificant difference in the level of anxiety, stress, depression and loneliness between genders andrnemployment statuses. However, the relation between other demographic factors and the type and rnlevel of psychological problems faced by refugees is found to be statistically significant. Regarding rnage, the study indicated that refugees who were 60 and above years of age were more vulnerable to rnanxiety, stress, and loneliness than other groups. Furthermore, refugees who are between 20-29 rnyears of age were more vulnerable to depression than the other groups. Regarding educational rnstatus, the result showed that literate participants, Grade 1-4, 5-8, diploma holders were not rnstatistically significantly different from the groups of degree holders in terms of Stress. Refugees who rnmigrated in 2005 or earlier face more anxiety, stress and loneliness than other groups, Refugees who rnmigrated in Addis Ababa between 2016-2020 are depressed than the other groups. Among the study rnparticipants, 55.2% and 74.5% had moderate anxiety and stress, respectively. However, almost all rn(98.6%) of participants had depression and 99.3% face loneliness. Recommendations were forwarded rnbased on these findings
