The main objective of the study was to assess the prevalence and academic achievement ofrnstudents with EBD in Kidus Gabriel Higher Elementary School. Thirteen (13) teachers and fiftyrneight (58) students were involved in this study. For this purpose Observation, Conner’s teacherrnrating scale and document analysis were employed as a method of data collection. The score ofrnstudents on the Conner`s rating scale completed by teachers were converted in to T-score tornavoid negative numbers and to standardize the scores and then compared with the manual. Afterrnstudents with EBD were identified, document analysis was conducted to get academicrnachievement of students with EBD. The findings of the study shows that 11.15% of students werernidentified with EBD, externalizing behaviors were associated with poor academic achievement inrnparticular in the present study, there was statistically significant relationship between academicrnachievement and EBD, and in general, male students with EBD have poor academicrnachievement. Externalizing disorder was highly prevalent among male students andrnexternalizing behavioral patterns and classroom academic achievement were highly associatedrnin Kidus Gabriel Higher Elementary School. This implies that, emotional and behavioralrndisorder has an impact on academic achievement of students
