The main purpose of this study was to assess the trends and practice of national examrnaccommodationrnforrnstudentsrnwithrndisabilitiesrnandrnsuggestrnthernnecessaryrnrecommendations. The study used descriptive design as a research design to explain therncurrent trends and practices of national exam accommodation To this end, 11 officials atrnNational Educational Assessment and Examination Agency and 127 students withrndisabilities were selected using purposive and random sampling respectively.rnWithrnregard to data gathering instrument, questionnaire, semi structured interview and FGDrnwere used to collect data from the participants. Accordingly, the data obtained fromrndifferent sources were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Thernresult obtained revealed that the existing practice of national exam accommodation forrnstudents with disabilities in our country is not up to the standard. The Agency does notrngive much attention for the issue of students with disabilities in national examinationrnespecially for students with hearing impairments and physical disabilities, The extendedrntime accommodation provided for students with visual impairments and hearingrnimpairments are not in legalized way there is no specific time to be added that is agreedrnand ratified by experts in Agency and most of the time it depends on the will of therninvigilators and supervisors at the exam centers, There is no national policyrnimplementation guideline that deals about accommodation of national examination forrnstudents with disabilities and the existing manual also does not address the issue of allrnstudents with disabilities indeed, it deals about the compensation subject for studentsrnwith visual impairments, and there are many challenges that hinder the implementationrnof national exam accommodation for students with disabilities among these absence ofrnclearly formulated policy implementation guideline regarding exam accommodation isrnthe big challenge that hinders the implementation of national exam accommodation forrnstudents with disabilities Finally, possible recommendation had been forwarded based onrnthe findings
