This study was conducted with the objectives of investigating factors and challenges affect thernperformance of Akaki Mazoria Fc; and to recommend the possible solutions accordingly. Datarnutilized for the study have mainly been acquired through sample survey number of 55rnparticipants. Among these, 55 numbers of players purposively selected football players, 30rnplayers from the under 17 projects, and the rest 25 players from the senior club. The participantrnfor interview 3 coaches purposively selected. Mainly, descriptive (frequency distribution andrnpercentage, mean) method of analysis has been utilized to analyze the data collected throughrnquestionnaire whereas the data from interview was analyzed through qualitative technique andrnthe researcher to triangulate by using observation check list. The study has employed descriptivernanalysis, a survey method was used to obtain the quantitative data that are collected from therntargeted groups and descriptive analysis has been computed to describe the data obtained fromrnthe key informants. Accordingly the research revealed that training facilities and equipmentâ€™srnwere not in the expected level for the trainees and coaches, no a predetermined coaching stylernevidenced in the projects, Lack of training manual, trainee selection, availability of requiredrntraining facilities and equipmentâ€™s, lack of proper follow-up and coachâ€™s knowledge have beenrnconsidered as factors affecting the effectiveness of the projects and absence of a uniquernselection criteria has been used in selecting trainees for the projects. The findings of the studyrnindicated that the following major problems were dominant in the Akaki Mazoria sport club. thernabsence of permanent fund for the clubs, lack of sufficient football courts in the area and lessrnemphasis given to even the existing ones, lack of trained sport professionals that couldrnsupplement the problems man power from Akaki Kality sub â€“city.
