Practice And Challenges Of Female Participation In Handball Game The Case Of Adwa Subzone

The main objective of this study was to investigate a study on thernchallenges of female participation in handball game and attitude of thernplayers the case of Adwa sub zone, attitude of sport and youth affair ofrnAdwa subzone, interest of parents, community to recommend the solutionrnof the major factors that challenged the participation of female inrnhandball. The main issues considered are participation of female athletesrnof hand ball, players’ performance in handball games, facilities andrnequipments of hand ball, attitude, technical training, and tactical trainingrnand challenges that influence female participation in hand ball game. Tornthis end descriptive survey method was employed. Data was gathered fromrn25 players and 3 coaches, 2 sport and youth affair and sport experts. Thernrespondents sampling was carried out through random selectionrntechnique. The data of the study was obtained through questionnaires,rninterview and observation techniques. Both qualitative and quantitativernmethods and percentages were used to analyze the data. The outcomernindicated that the players are not actively participated in handball game.rnLack of encouragement of parents, coaches, sport and youth affair,rndisfavor attitude of hand ball federation and other concerned bodies, inrnadequate hand ball facilities and materials. Therefore, it is recommendedrnthat depending on the result concerning bodies such as parents, coaches,rnsport and youth affair, hand ball federation and other concerning bodiesrnshould have to encourage the participation of female players in hand ballrngame, to avoid critical challenges of female hand ball and to developrnplayers performance.rnKey Words: hand ball, history, development, coaches, female hand ballrnplayers, technique and participation
