The purpose of this study is to investigate the major challenges and problemsrnof Ethiopian Paralympics athletics sport participation in Paralympics games,rnThe method of the study was descriptive survey method. The subjects of thisrnstudy were 8 disable athletes, 4 coaches, 3 administrative staff from federalrnsport commission.2 technical staffs from Ethiopian Paralympics committee andrn1medical doctor from Ethiopian national team, The respective field selected byrnusing purposive sampling method. As a method of data gathering tools,rnquestionnaire, interview and document analysis were employed. To analyze therncollected data both qualitative and quantitative methods such as descriptivernstatements and frequency counts, percentage, The data gathered through theserninstruments are analyzed using percentage and the interview made with federalrnand Paralympics technical officials, and the data from the federal office recordrnanalyzed and described in narrated way with the response of Athletes andrnCoaches. The result indicated that the only selection criteria to be EthiopianrnParalympics National team member is Ethiopian Paralympics Championshiprnresult, the challenges that affect the event also shortage of equipment andrnfacilities, limitation of training place, event specific knowledge of the coachesrnon Paralympics athletics . Therefore, the researcher put the following possiblernrecommendations: EPC should settle well organized criteria in order to recruitrnthe disable National team athletics, fulfill facilities and equipments, wellrnorganized gymnasium, should up grade coaches IAAF coaching level throughrnCECS in order to fill the gap of short distance runners coaches knowledge
