This research is prepared to improve the performance and participation of female footballersrnfocusing on some premier league clubs in Addis Ababa. The sample of the subject consists ofrnpurposive and simple random sampling techniques; the research is focused on some premierrnleague clubs in Addis Ababa. The study populations are premier league coaches and femalernfootballers who are playing in the league in Addis Ababa. The coaches of three premier leaguesrnwere selected purposefully; in addition 13 players of each premier league were also selected onrnthe bases of simple random sampling. Even if there are seven female football clubs in AddisrnAbaba there is a problem to shine out through several reasons like cultural influence, shortage ofrnspectators, and salary, gender disparity, and lack of facilities and so on. Therefore this research isrntried to find out solutions;rnBased on the findings the following recommendations were forwarded; In order to bring visiblernchange in performance and participation of the female football players, the families, friendsrncompanions, spectators should support and motivate them, the mass media should give widerncoverage about the female footballers in addition the training session should fit with mach daysrnof the league for better performance of the female players. The other point which should be takenrnin consideration is all, stake holders mainly the government should create awareness among thernpeople to minimize the negative attitude by using different mass media in order to improve thernparticipation of the female football players in Addis Ababa.rnKeyword: performance, club, footballers, premeir league, coaches
