Educational technology comes ill different forms to bring about active and interactive lessonsrnchanging the traditional way (j[ chalk and talk teaching-learning method to som. extent.rnInformation Communication Technologies (lCTs) are parts of this technology. ICTs improvernalmost every aspect of our day to day life, and education is one of the benefiCiaries. The generalrnobjective of this study was to examine the technological, academic, and infrastmctural issuesrnthat affect the effective application of e-Iearning at Kotebe College of Teachers' Educationrn(KCTE) and to look at possible constraints and solutions. Both qualitative and quantitativernapproaches were utilized. Questionnaire': interviews, and personal observation were used inrnorder to get the primary data. The secondary data was obtained from books, unpublished andrnpublished studies, journals, and illternet sources. The study has shown that there can be waysrnto bridge the gap between the current status of education at KCTE and the presentlyrnavailable technologies. It has also shown that the use of different kinds of educationalrntechnologies in class is benefiCial in terms what both the students and the teachers gain fromrnthe interactive class. In this study, it was concluded that both the instructors and studelltsrnwere found to-be interested in using educational technologies, especially computers in thernteaching-learning process. Lack of access to computers and accessories, lack of good internetrnconnection, lack of trainings for both the instructors and the students in using computers andrnlack of infrastructure in developing e-Iessons hindered the process. Recommendations werernforwarded on the need for upgrading variety and access of the educational technologies inrnKCTE, the inclusion of more. interactive ICT baseq lessons, the. continuity and strengtheningrnof efforts which are started with MOE, and non-governmental organizations like CamararnEducation Ethiopia, in order to benefit from their assistance. Sustainability of safety of therndevices and preventive methods, alld the set up linkage of all computers with the new fasterrninternet connection in the college were also forwarded as recommendations.
