This research has been carried out to develop a forced draft microgasifier cookstove fromrnlocally available materials. To achieve the objective of the research, an Analytical methodrnwas used for designing different parts of the gasifier. SOLID WORK 2020 was used tornmodel various geometries of the microgasifier stove and COMSOL Multiphysics 5.5 wasrnused for CFD analysis of the cookstove to analyze the thermal behavior of the stove and,rnInternational Standards Organizations ISO 19867-1:2018 guideline was used for testingrnthe performance of a forced draft microgasifier stove. Finally, by using surfacerntemperature measured during the experiment, the contribution of each mode of heatrntransfer was calculated.rnThe developed forced draft microgasifier cookstove has a combustion chamber diameter ofrn200mm and height of 260mm. In order to minimize the heat loss from the combustionrnchamber to the stoves outside body the combustion chamber of the stove was covered withrnclay of 20mm thickness. Also the gap between the insulation clay and the outside cylinderrnof the stove was 20mm and it used for secondary air supply as well as used as additionalrninsulator. The air was supplied with the help of 12V, 92mm computer fan. The fan supplyrnair at the speed of 5m/s.rnThe CFD result shows the effects of pot support height on the thermal efficiency of thernstove and the study found that a lower pot support height has high thermal efficiency thanrnthe higher ones. The result of CFD was compared and valiodated with the experimentalrndata. From the result obtained, the thermal efficiency of CFD, Experiment, and heatrntransfer analysis was 49.72, 44.70, and 40.12% respectively. The specific fuel consumptionrnof the developed stove was 56g/liter.rnGenerally, the developed forced draft microgasifier stove provides better performancernwhen compared to the previous design proposed by other researchers. Thus disseminatingrnthe developed microgasifier stove at a larger scale in developing countries like Ethiopiarnwill be beneficial in reducing deforestation and emission that will be brought about byrnusing open-fire stoves and thus, helps to obtain carbon credit.
