study was 384 Muslim women drawn from three sharia compliant states: Kano, Niger andZamfara states. The data collected for the study were statistically analyzed usingdescriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation (Std) to test and analyze bio-datavariables and to answer research questions. Inferential statistics of Chi-square was usedto test all stated hypotheses with a view to either accept or reject each null hypothesis.The level of significance was set at 0.05. The major findings from the study showed that:There is significant influence of culture on Muslim women sports participation in shariacompliant states in Nigeria. Parental influence had significant influence on Muslimwomen sports participation in sharia compliant states in Nigeria, There was significantinfluence of level of awareness of the benefits of sports on Muslim women sportsparticipation in sharia compliant states in Nigeria, there was significant influence of levelof awareness of Islamic Injunction on Muslim women participation in sports in Shariacompliant state in Nigeria. The researcher recommended that: the Muslim leaders andthe preachers should, educate the women on how Islam supports their participation insports. Government should sensitize the Muslim women on the benefits of theirparticipation such as good health/fitness gainful employment, scholarship and preventionof injuries as a result of sports participation. All cultural beliefs against womenparticipation in sports should be discouraged by parents, teachers, Islamic Preachers andso on. Parents need to influence their female children on the need to participate in sportsinstead of discouraging them.
