The present analytical studies had been carriedout on various samples of water such as raw and treatedwaters in Kaduna and Zaria, three wells in Samaru, andindustrial effluents from Federal SuperphosphateFertilizers Company, Kaduna, Nortex Nigerian LimitedKaduna, and Nigerian Holts Tanneries, Kano, the threetypical representative industries from the Northernpart of this country.Based on the analytical data collected anattempt has been made(a) to assess the suitability of thetreated water for drinking and washingpurposes(b) to assess the extent of pollution causedto river Kaduna as a result of industrialwaste water discharges in it(c) to compare the results with the existingInternational standards for water quality.
