Corporate Banking Officer - Exciting Opportunity At Polaris Bank, Nigeria

Job Description:

Polaris Bank, a leading commercial bank in Nigeria, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Corporate Banking Officer. As a Corporate Banking Officer, you will be responsible for selling financial services and products to corporate clients, fostering and maintaining strong relationships between the bank and its existing and prospective customers. You will also contribute to marketing campaigns, events, and promotional activities, while developing sales strategies that align with consumer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

- Generate revenue through liability and income generation strategies.
- Analyze and present credit proposals.
- Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to drive revenue growth and meet targets.
- Promote and sell the bank's products and services to corporate clients.
- Negotiate and structure complex financing deals, including syndicated loans, mergers and acquisitions, debt capital market transactions, and other corporate finance activities.
- Evaluate creditworthiness of customers by processing loan applications and documentation.
- Monitor active loans and enforce collection and recoveries.
- Ensure the achievement of all budget parameters.
- Develop referral networks and cross-sell products and services.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent engagement and service delivery.
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Resolve customer complaints to maximize satisfaction and boost customer service experience.
- Achieve a healthy portfolio and deposit mix.
- Execute marketing strategies and develop marketing campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc/BA) in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a marketing role in a financial institution, preferably a commercial bank.
- Knowledge of corporate banking products and services, including trade finance, cash management, working capital solutions, and treasury services.
- Strong and effective communication and networking skills.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Solid understanding of marketing techniques, market research, and statistical data analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office and marketing software (e.g., CRM, Dynamics, Excel).
- In-depth knowledge of social media and web analytics.
- Exemplary organizational and multitasking skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and commercial awareness.
- Strategic vision and sharp business acumen.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player with a customer-oriented approach.
