Pig Production Under Small Scale Intensive Farming In East Shewa Of Central Oromia Ethiopia Management Feed Resources Performance And Marketing Practices
The objective of this study was to investigate the performance, management practices,rnand marketing practices, and associated factors limiting small scale intensive pigrnproduction in East Shewa of Central Ethiopia. The study used structured questionnairernadministered to 105 household pig farmers, randomly selected from three towns namely,rnAddis Ababa (2 sub cities), Bishoftu (4 kebeles) and Adama (4 kebeles). Focus grouprndiscussions were also employed to check the reliability of the information obtainedrnthrough questionnaire interview. Data generated included production purposes,rnsocioeconomic profile, farm characteristics, feed types, feed sources, health practices,rnmarketing practices and constraints.
