Introduction: Patient's rights are a basic human right and quality assurance that protectsrnpatients against abuse and discrimination and promotes ethical practices. Though there arernbills and hospital documents regarding patients' rights available in different settings, thernawareness among patients about these documents may be limited. Lack of respect for patients'rnrights may lead to hazards to the security and health situation of patients. rnObjectives: To assess the patients’ awareness of their rights, associated factors, and thernpractice of these rights by the medical team from the patients’ perspective at Tikur Anbessarnspecialized hospital. rnMethod: Institutional based cross-sectional study was conducted among patients whornundergone elective surgery at Tikur Anbessa specialized hospital. The data was collectedrnfrom January to May 2021.
