Phytochemical Investigation On The Stem Bark Of Croton Macrostachyus (bisana)

The Croton macrostachyus is used for the treatment of malaria, venerealrndiseases, cough, diabetes, constipation, tape worms and hepatitis. Therndichloromethane extract of the stem bark of Croton macrostachyus wasrnafforded two Terpenoids: the compound with full structure which is arntriterpenoid (CM-1) and a compound with a partial structure which is arntetratrpenoid (CM-2). Structural determination was accomplished by meansrnof spectroscopic methods (IR, UV, 1D and 2D NMR)
