A study was conducted concerning the veteran commercial bank ofrnEthiopia and some randomly assumed private banks[dashen bank,rnunited bank, wogagen bank and nib international bank] on therntopic of customer relation management (comparative analysis of therntwo banks). The main objective of the study was to find out whetherrnthere is a significance difference in the customer relationrnmanagement [CRM] as far as the two banks are concerned. Suchrnstudy will help the banks to assess their current performance inrnrelation to the issue raised. In the current free market economyrneffective manipulation of marketing strategies towards customerrnsatisfaction strongly determines company's long run survival. Tornfurther carry out the objectives, the necessary data were collectedrnusing primary methods. Questionnaires were distributed to therncustomers and interviews were made with the banks officers.rnSecondary sources were also reviewed to come up with accuraternremedy. Apart from this, sample sizes of 150 customers werernassumed randomly from each sector. Then the data collected werernedited, tabulated and some logical inferences drawn. The result ofrnthe study was analyzed using hypothesis testing (z distribution)rnand simple descriptive statistics. The out put of the study revealedrnthat there is a significant difference between private andrngovernment owned banks as long as customer relationrnmanagement is concerned. That is, when relatively seen withrngovernment owned banks, Private Banks recorded outstandingrncustomer relation management system.
