This paper aims at the assessment of business responses towards HIVIAIDS pandemic byrntaking two case organizations in Addis Ababa (BGI-Ethiopia and EthiopianrnTelecommunication Corporation) based on the responses of 124 employees (30 whiterncollar and 94 blue collar workers). Data collected through a questionnaire and interviewrnwere analyzed using SPSs.rnThe results revealed that, awareness level of workers on HIVIAIDS is good except fewrnindividuals who believe in the transmission of the virus because of working in the samernoffice and eating in the same cafeteria with HIV positive employee. BGI-Ethiopia is usingrndifferent alternatives means of HIVIAIDS awareness creation activities than ETC.rnMoreover, ETC's practice on ensuring non-discriminatory practice during employment,rnpromotion, transfer, and training, is not satisfactory. Neither ETC nor BGI-Ethiopia isrnproviding free home care and support services for employees who retired because ofrnHIVIAIDS illness. Finally, mistrust, unwillingness to share information related tornHIVIA IDS, poor health care infrastructure, low funding for HIVIAIDS project, and lowrncommitment of higher officials were the challenge faced by the two organizations inrnresponse to HIVIA IDS. Based on the findings conclusions and recommendations werernmade.
