Effective supply chain management has become a very important way to gain competitivernadvantage by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. This study tests thernrelationships between supply chain management practices, operational performance andrnorganizational performance. It also investigates the mediating role of operational performancernbetween SCM practice and organizational performance relationships. The data were collectedrnfrom 96 employees and customers of the company The relationships proposed in the frameworkrnwas tested using SPSS version 23 using both descriptive (mean and standard deviation) andrninferential (linear correlation, and regressions) the research findings have shown that SCMPrnhas a positive effect on both operational and organizational performance furthermorernoperational performance has also a positive significant relationship with organizationalrnperformance. This study also revealed that the operational performance of the firm mediates thernSCM practice and organizational performance relationship. Therefore to achieve advancementrnin organizational performance in the long run the organization should give due emphasis to thernconstructs of SCM practice and the measures of operational performance. This paper is only onrnthe case of Hafde tannery, and future research should consider other business organizations
