Background: Type2 diabetes mellitus and its complication are becoming more prevalent inrnEthiopia. It is estimated that 2-3 % of the population is living with diabetic. No Study isrnavailable in correlation of Apolipoprotein and lipid profile that is relevant in diagnosis andrnmonitoring of diabetic dyslipidaemia in our local set up. Therefore the current study assessedrnthe correlation of Apolipoprotein with lipid profile.rnObjective: Assessment of Dyslipidaemia using lipidprofile, lipid ratios and Apolipoproteinrnvalue in type 2 diabetic patients who are apparently healthy attending diabetic clinic of thernTikur Anbessa Specialized Teaching Hospital, Addis Ababa.rnMethod: A Crossectional study was done during the study period from 15/10/2014 torn24/10/2016.Demographic variables were measured and Dyslipidaemia was assessed fromrnovernight fasting serum sample by measuring Apolipoprotiens and lipid profile. Degree ofrnassociation and/or correlation between Apolipoprotein and classical lipid profile wasrnevaluated using Spearman, Pearson correlation, independent sample t test , Man Whitney testrnand Chi square appropriately. SPSS version 20 software was used and histogram, Box Plotrnand Scatter plot was used to display results.rnResult: A total of 70 type 2 Diabetic patients were participated in the study. Median age ofrnthe participants was 47(31-64). Dyslipidemia Observed in participants were high TC, lowrnHDL, high LDL , high TG, low Apo A1, high Apo B100 ,high non HDL and high lipid ratios.rnApo B 100 and Apo A1 are positively associated with LDL and HDL respectively. In additionrnlipid ratios had significant positive association with atherogenic lipid parameters and negativernassociation with anti-atherogenic lipid parameters.rnConclusion: Apolipoprotein A1 and B100 are associated with classical lipid profiles that helprnin diagnosis of dyslipidaemia in type 2 Diabetic patients
