The definition of productivity, the ratio of output value to input value,rnremains the same for every sector. Productivity can either be improved through increasingrnthe output value by increasing the quality or quantity of products, or through decreasing therninput value by utilizing the resources effectively & efficiently. Leather industry, as it is one of the potential economic sectors, it shouldrnbe given proper attention for sustainable development of the country. Thus, the purpose ofrnthis paper is to propose improvement areas in maintenance activities of Ethiopian leatherrnindustries to improve their productivity by analyzing the problems associated with it.
