Construction of special structures such as space frames and trusses,rnshells and domes is to provide large spaces with aesthetically pleasingrnappearance. Such structures are nowadays finding wide applications inrnour country. This demonstrated that number of clients interested in thernspace truss technology is increasing by the day. But considering the lackrnof standards and codes and training for such special structures designrnand analysis, currently most of such works are done by foreignrnengineering companies. These special structures are not yet locallyrnmanufactured.rnThis study has as the objective to design, analyze and manufacturernspace truss made of steel, which acts as a network of struts and nodesrnwith emphasis on the nodes. This may serve as a reference for designersrnand also to identify how and in what way the nodes can be produced byrnlocally available material and manufacturing means. It is hoped that thisrnwill make the construction cost for steel space frames lower and thernsupervision easier due to the use of readily available local manufacturingrnmethods.
