Psycho Social And Heath Behavior Experiences Of Single Women In Addis Ababa

The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychosocial and health behaviorrnexperiences of single women in Addis Ababa around Addisu Gebeya Woreda 7. It also attemptedrnto describe single women lived experiences, factors constitute the likelihood of singlehood,rnpsychosocial consequences of being a single hood and health behavior consequences of singlernhood. The study used qualitative method, particularly phenomenological approach. Ten singlernwomen above age 30 living in Addis Ababa around Addisu Gebeya woreda 7 were participatedrnin the study. Data has been collected through in-depth interview from the participants. Thernfindings of the study indicate that the major reasons for the status of single hood are ; not meetrnwith the right man, increasing divorce rate, child hood behavioral experiences, family burden.rnThe result also indicates that single women face psychosocial challenges like stress, depressionrn,doubt having a child and health behavior experiences. The result also indicates single womenrnface psychosocial challenges due to their single status.
