The practice of adoption as an institution has existed long period in Ethiopian societiesrnwhere the term guddifachaa used to represent it. It implies adopting a child byrnsatisfying the economic, legal, and social rights. Guddifachaa practices assume differentrnsocioeconomic purposes, not studied widely. This paper presents about the guddifachaarnpractice as community based child problem intervention. It creates just environment forrnthe next generations especially for vulnerable children, when the Cultural knowledgernand practices revitalized within the existing social structures. A research attempts torndefine the social work profession with country’s socio cultural context in that thernGuddifachaa practice needs less resource, skills, and less expertise in the process. Thisrnpractice has significant effect with the social work advocacy, lobby and integration tornchildren welfare policies in the country
