The purpose of this thesis was to study factors that hinder the effectiveness ofrnsome selected football clubs with the case of premier league participant clubsrnregistered by Ethiopian football federation and found in Addis Ababa cityrnadministration. The sample of the subject consist of 5 committee members, 5rndirectors, 5 sport scholars, 5 national clubs (St. George, Dedebit, CBE, EthiornCoffee and EEPA), 15 players of Football and 15 coaches and officials ofrnFootball using purposive sampling techniques. To conduct a research bothrnquantitative (using simple percent), qualitative and descriptive survey methodrnwere employed. A variable data suggests those factors hinder the effectivenessrnof the clubs under investigation. The result of the study indicates that somernvariables hinder the effectiveness of Ethiopian Football clubs as compared tornthe period of their establishment as well other African and International clubs.rnMajor findings of the study are concerned, significant majority of thernrespondents stated that, the variables lack of football facilities, Finance, TrainedrnProfessionals and Elite athletes or high performance programs.rnKey Words: - Club, Football, Effectiveness, Football Clubs, Factors
