Maternal mortality in Ethiopia is one of the highest in the world. One explanation forrnpoor health outcomes among women and children is the non use of modern health carernservices by a sizable proportion of women in Ethiopia. The main objective of this study isrnto analyze factors associated with the utili zation of health care servi ces, which influencernthe use of maternal health care services in Eth iopia. The data for this study were takenrnfrom the 20 I I Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey which is a nationallyrnrepresentative survey of women in the 15-49 years age groups. Then logistic regressionrntechnique was used to estimate parameters. Separate models were also used for ANC,rndelivery care and PNC. In addi tion to this a bivarite analysis was done to estimate thernprobabil ity of use of the maternal health care services. In the logistic regression modelrnplace of res idence, occupation of husband, education level of mother's and husband,rnregion and exposure to mass media were found to be strong indicators of utilization ofrnhealth care service. Mother's work status was not significantly related with delivery carernand PNC. Mother's age and birth order were found insignificant factors for ANC andrnrel igion and mother's age were found insignificant related to PNC.
