Labour Party Vows To Pursue Legal Options Following Enugu Tribunal Judgment

Enugu, September 21, 2023 - In response to the recent judgment by the Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal regarding the March 18, 2023 Governorship elections, the Labour Party and its candidate, Barrister Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga, have issued a statement expressing their acknowledgment of the verdict and their determination to pursue legal avenues to challenge it.

The tribunal's decision affirmed the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Barrister Peter Mbah. In light of this ruling, the Labour Party and Chijioke Edeoga are now prepared to take their case to the Court of Appeal and explore all legal avenues available to them.

In a bid to maintain peace and order, the Labour Party urges its supporters throughout Enugu State and across the country to remain calm, law-abiding, and continue their daily activities without fear or disruption.

The statement reaffirms the party's unwavering faith in the judicial process and its commitment to ensuring that the aspirations of Enugu residents, who cast their votes for Labour Party candidates on March 18, 2023, are upheld.

Signed,

Engr. George Ugwu Spokesman, Edeoga/Nwokeabia Campaign Organisation
