Exeter Excellence Scholarships 2027: £15,000 A Year

University of Exeter Excellence Scholarships 2027/28 in the UK: £15,000 a Year for International Undergraduates

2026 International Student Financial Guide

Securing a Fully Funded Scholarship is only the first step. Many Nigerian students are now utilizing No-Cosigner Student Loans through providers like MPOWER Financing and Prodigy Finance to cover living expenses in the USA, Canada, and the UK.

Proof of Funds & GRE Waivers

If you are applying to Ivy League or Russell Group Universities, look for programs offering Graduate Assistantships. Many top-tier universities are currently granting GRE and GMAT Waivers for African applicants with strong professional backgrounds or high GPAs from recognized institutions.

WES Evaluation and English Tests

For Canada and the US, a WES Course-by-Course Evaluation is often mandatory. Additionally, if your degree was taught in English, you may qualify for an IELTS/TOEFL Waiver, saving you significant costs during the Graduate Admissions process.

The University of Exeter is offering 150 Excellence Scholarships worth £15,000 for international students starting an undergraduate degree in September 2027. This is one of the most generous recurring undergraduate awards in the UK this cycle: the £15,000 discount applies for each eligible year of study, not just the first year.

This is a partial funding award: it is a reduction in international tuition fees, not a fully funded scholarship. It is not paid as cash and it does not cover living costs, accommodation or travel, so successful applicants still need to fund the rest of their degree.

- Already hold an offer — conditional or unconditional — to study an eligible UK campus-based undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter, entering year one directly in September 2027

Eligible degrees cover UK campus-based undergraduate programmes across Environment, Science and Economy; Health and Life Sciences; and Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences — including subjects such as Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Law, Psychology, Biosciences, Geography, Mathematics and Statistics, and English and Creative Writing.

The following programmes are not eligible: BMBS Medicine; BSc Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography); the Dual LLB/Juris Doctor (JD) with the Chinese University of Hong Kong; the Brickfields Asia College LLB Law; and Degree Apprenticeships.

How to Apply

1. Apply for an eligible undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter (via UCAS) for September 2027 entry.

2. Receive your offer — conditional or unconditional.

3. Complete the Exeter Excellence Scholarship webform. You may only make one application per eligible programme for which you hold an offer.

4. Write a personal statement of no more than 300 words, answering two questions (up to 150 words each): what are your personal aspirations, and how will studying at Exeter help you achieve them? And as an Exeter Scholar, how will you make the most of the opportunity to contribute to the University community and represent Exeter through your learning, connections and actions on and off campus?

5. Submit the webform by 4 March 2027 at 11:59 GMT for Round 1 consideration, or by 29 April 2027 for Round 2.

Please note: the award cannot be combined with any other University of Exeter scholarship.

Why the University of Exeter?

Exeter marked its rise to 136th globally in the QS World University Rankings — comfortably within the global top 150 — by creating these 150 scholarships for outstanding international students. A £15,000 discount repeated for each eligible year of study makes a real difference to the cost of a UK degree, and the breadth of eligible subjects means strong students across the sciences, health, humanities and social sciences can all apply.

If you already hold an Exeter offer for September 2027, or you are about to apply, do not leave this one late: Round 1 closes on 4 March 2027, and you need an offer in hand before you can submit the scholarship form.
