Background: Hypertension is one of the most important preventable causes of premature rnmortality worldwide and it is one of the primary risk factors for heart disease and stroke. In rnEthiopia 10.6% and Addis Ababa, 30% of the population has been estimated to have rnhypertension. Adherence to medication therapy and lifestyle change is an aspect of patients’ rncare that is often overlooked and should be evaluated as a crucial part of cardiovascular rnmanagement. Therefore, this study aimed to assess adherence and associated factors of rnadherence to hypertensive management among hypertensive patients in Black Lion Hospital rnchronic follow up unit. rnMethods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. Systematic sampling technique was used to rnselect 286 study subjects. A structured standard questionnaire was used after some modifications. rnAnalysis was done using SPSS software.
