Background: Insertion of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) requires an adequate depth of anesthesia.rnThe choice of the intravenous induction agent was influence the insertion conditions depending onrnits ability of optimize the pharyngeal, laryngeal reflexes and hemodynamic stability.rnObjectives: This study aims to compare the effect of Thiopentone with 10% topical Lignocainernspray(TL) and propofol(P) on hemodynamic change and response condition during LMA insertionrnon patients age above 10 years who was undergoing elective surgery at Tikur Anbessa SpecializedrnHospital from January 20/2017 to April 20/2017.rnMethods: Study 84 participant followed in prospective cohort study, who fulfills inclusion criteriarnin to either TL or P based on induction type of study drugs. Data collector record baseline, afterrninduction and LMA insertion (MAP and HR), insertion response and apneic time and datesrnanalyzed using SPSS 20 with 95% CI, unpaired student’s t-test to continuous outcome variables,rnchi-square test for categorical and finally results presented as Mean ± SD and percentage. P < 0.05rnwas considered as statistically significant difference.rnResult: The comparison of data showed that reduction mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) of Prngroup compare with thiopentone with 10% topical lignocaine group within 10 mint Mean ± SD at 1rnmint after induction (74.8± 4.73vs81.8 ±5.6)p
