Couple Communication And Marital Stability Among Adults In Asella Town

It is often said that marriage is a socially recognized and approved union between individuals,rnwho commit to one another with the expectation of a stable and lasting intimate relationship. Thernpurpose of this study was to find out if there was a relationship between couple communicationrnand marital stability among adults in Assela Town. This study examined communication andrnstability from the stand point experiences of married couples in Assela city. A researcher-rndesigned questionnaire was used to collect necessary data for the study. Two hundred couplesrn(100 males and 100 females) were selected using stratified random sampling method.rnDescriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and correlation were used to analyze quantitative data. Thernanalysis revealed that there was a positive correlation between couple communication andrnmarital stability. Most of the respondents agreed that lack of effective communication was therncause of misery to marital stability. Suggestions were forwarded based on the findings of thernstudy. It was recommended that the government needs to use the mass media to create awarenessrnabout the need to improve communication in homes and discourage suspicion, recruitrnprofessional counselors, psychologists and social workers to attend to various needs of couplesrnand intending couples
