Background: Diabetes and depression are a highly prevalent, devastating and disabling conditionrnassociated with high morbidity, mortality, and healthcare consumption. Co-existing depression inrnpeople with Diabetes mellitus (DM) results in decreased adherence, poor health outcome,rndecreased quality of life, increased disability, lost productivity increased and risk of death.rnPrevalence and contribute factors were varies from pace to place and data on depression in therndiabetes patients in Ethiopia are scarce particularly in the study area that which needs furtherrninvestigation.rnObjective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and associated factors ofrndepression among outpatients with diabetes in Felege Hiwot Referral Hospital.rnMethod: Institution based cross-sectional study was conducted on outpatients from Felege HiwotrnReferral Hospital. A face to face interview was conducted using structured questionnaire byrntrained and experienced health professionals. The participants were selected by using systematicrnrandom sampling technique.
