This work is devoted to the investigation of local raw materials, its preparations processes andrncharacterization technique of a Cu-Fe-O applied as a catalyst for hydrocarbon (HC) oxidation.rnSamples obtained by high temperature solid state method using copper oxide (CuO) and ironrnoxide (Fe2O3) and by wet chemical synthesis method using water as a solvent, applying ironrnnitrate (Fe(NO3).9H2O) and copper nitrate (Cu(NO3)2.3H2O). In wet synthesis method the thermalrntreatment at 100oC and 150oC, water and nitrates removed from the sample, respectively. Threernsamples prepared at different quantitative precursor composition that is Fe/Cu = 0.5, 1 and 2 forrneach principal procedures. Mixing and calcinations at 850oC for 8hours were the common unitrnoperations for both preparation routes.rnIn this work it is demonstrated that, the nature of preparation ways, the structural property ofrnprecursors and the quantitative precursor composition affects the formation of desired phase, rncrystal property, size and strain of crystals, microstructure and specific surface area of thernsample; which are among the most relevant physical and chemical properties for the catalyticrnactivity. The phase identification, structural property and morphology analysis of samples wererncharacterized by X-ray diffraction and Blaine air permeability apparatus and the samplesrnprepared by solid state method on a precursor composition of Fe/Cu = 0.5 showed optimizedrnproperty.
