Background: In 2015 an estimated 303,000 women died from maternal causes globally and developing countries account for 99% of these deaths. Delay in seeking care during labor is a recognized contributor for these adverse pregnancy outcomes. Birth preparedness and complication readiness plan is one of the crucial elements of Safe motherhood for a woman to get timely care during pregnancy and childbirth to avoid these adverse outcomes.rnObjective: This study aimed to see the patterns of admission of laboring mothers and the association between Birth preparedness and delayed presentation in public health centers of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2017rnMethod: This was a facility based cross-sectional study done in 10 public health centers of Addis Ababa from Mar-Apr, 2017. Multistage sampling technique was used to identify the sample health centers then systematic random sampling was used to select the study participants.
