Talent identification is a complex but important issue in competitive sport,rnespecially in sports like football in which the ability to identify talent hasrnsignificant commercial implications for clubs and players. However, little isrnknown about how coaches conceptualize talent to identify athletes forrnsuccessful performance. With this in mind the purpose of this research paperrnwas to investigate the challenges of talent identification and development processrnin Arbaminch. Hence data were gathered through questionnaire and interview.rnThe in formations collected from the aforementioned tools were subjected to bothrnqualitative [using coding], and quantitatively [using tables and percentages].
