This study was set to examine the organizational and managerialrneffectiveness of distance education its implementation in MOND. This wasrnwith the intent to find out its challenges and prospects of the organizationrnand then recommend possible ways of alleviating the problems. To thisrnend, basic questions addressing the issues related to goal attainment,rnqualification skill and work experience, organizational structurernfavorability, managerial function and problems affecting the programrneffectiveness were formulated. The study employed mixed methodsrnapproach (quantitative supported by qualitative) to address the researchrnquestions. In order to collect the necessary data, questionnaire (forrnlearners, coordinators, and experts) and interview guide (for managers)rnwere developed. Moreover, relevant literature was reviewed. Thernquestionnaires were evaluated and checked by the thesis advisor andrnpilot-tested in order to avoid irrelevant and ambiguous terms andrnnecessary corrections and modifications were made before distribution.rnParticipants of the study were 40 experts, 244 learners, 10 coordinatorsrnand 2 DEP heads. The study found out that distance education programrnwas affected due to the ineffective organizational structure, lack of givingrnfeedback, shortage of budget, delay of examination, lack of evaluation ofrnthe program, and lack of measure taking were the most serious problems.rnHence, it was recommended that the DEP managers should take urgentrnmeasure to restructure the program in order to alleviate the most andrnrelated problems.
