The main objective of this study was to investigate the status 0/ communityrnparticlj7ation in improving access in education with particular re/erence to thernprimary education ofl fadiya ZoneISNNPR.rnTo conduct the research a descriptive survey type of the research method wasrnemployed. Using the purposive sampling technique, jour woredas were selectedJromrnthe zone administration. This technique was used for the convenience of access tornareas. K/~' 77], WI:.:TB members and zone education department management membersrnwere used as source of data in the study. Questionnaire, interview and documentrnanalysis were used to collect the necesswy data. /Jata obtained throughrnquestionnaires were quantitatively described, interpreted and analyzed throughrnpercentage while injormation obtained through interview was qualitatively describedrnto support quantitative data.rnAs the findings 0/ the study indicated that: The majority 0/ the local communityrncontributes different in puts to schools, KETB and WliTlJ members do not alwaysrndiscuss with the local community in promoting and enhancing education access, lackrnof awareness 0/ community in participation, lack of communication transparencyrnbetween the concerned bodies and community, participation level of KETB andrnWETB members in school activities are not very high.rnTherefore, to solve the problems in each levels, the authority in zone and Woredarnlevels have to follow up and provide technical and administrative support f or therncommunity in general and boards in particular.
