Initially tlte TVET program is designed by the Ministry of Education (MoE) to preparernpeople at middle level trained man power that can create self-employment for therndevelopment of the country's economy. However, especially in the business field thernintended goal could not be attended and unemployment is still increasing in the country.rnTherefore, it has become required to conduct a research under the title "An Assessment onrnthe Implementation of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Program inrnSelected Private TVET Colleges in Addis Ababa: In Particular Reference to BusinessrnFields".rnThis study attempts to assess the implementation of the TVET program in the private TVETrncolleges providing training in business fields. The sample private TVET colleges consideredrnfor this study were Admas University College, Royal College, St. Mary's University College,rnand Unity University College.rnFor the execution of this study, descriptive survey method was employed. For data analysis thernstatistical tools such as percentage, mean value, and ANOVA were used. In this endeavor,rndata were collected through questionnaires, observation, interview, and document analysis.rnQuestionnaires were distributed to simple randomly selected students and purposely selectedrnteachers. Interviews were conducted with deans, apprenticeship coordinators, vocationalrnguidance and counselor, registrars offices in the institutions, and one TVET officer in AAEB.rnThe study revealed such major challenges (hindrances) on the proper implementation on thernprogram as lack of practical training for teachers. No practical training was given to thernteachers and trainees, the curriculum was not carefully designed as to provide practicalrntraining for employment, government support and controlling mechanism was not properlyrnworking, no vocational guidance service is properly provided. At last, based on the findings ofrnthe study, some possible suggestions wereforwarded
