The central focus of this study was to assess the implementation of change management of “MEDAXS†atrnEthio-Tebib General Hospital, the system is implemented to change the manual system in to advancedrnelectronic system. The study attempted to see the change process, challenges of the process and the extent ofrnalignment of the goal with the implementation of “MEDAXSâ€. The qualitative research method was utilized inrnthis study. The data collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions were carried out viarntelephone due to Covid-19. Office documents of the Hospital also were used. The study shows the factors whichrninitiated the Hospital for the new change, the process and the challenges of the change process. Thernimplementation of the systems was gradual from the manual into electronic system. There were personal,rninstitutional and national challenges. It is found that the change improved the working culture of the Hospitalrnresulting in increased customer satisfaction, saving time of service and reducing resource wastage, paperrnrelated manual works automated, record and finance history confidentiality is fully maintained, thernorganization saved manpower and other related costs. To keep the change upbeats with change dynamism itrnwas recommended training the staff continually, digitalizing the old patient history card, updating the systemrnregarding different codes of the system and finance related tasks, arranging easily movable devices for MedicalrnStaff when they are visiting round admitted patients, adjusting office arrangement of tables for Medical Doctorsrnin order to face their patients and their desktops simultaneously, Assigning a permanent staff who is responsiblernfor the MEDAXS system.
