The purpose of this study was to assess in-school factors that affecting the quality of education inrngovernment primary schools of Lega Tafo Lega Dadi administrative town.rnThe specific objectives were to assess the major in-school factors affecting the quality ofrneducation in primary schools of Lega Tafo Lega Dadi Administrative Town and to examine thernextent to which the identified factors affecting the quality of education in the primary schools ofrnthe administrative town. This study adopted a descriptive research design. The theoreticalrnframework was based on Education Production function theory of historical materialism. Thernsample sizes of this study were 113 students, 59 teachers and 13 school principals. This studyrnutilized interviews, observation and questionnaires for education office experts, schoolrnprincipals, teachers and students to collect data. Reliability of the instrument was done byrnperforming a Pearson’s product moment correlation. The validity was done by conducting arnpilot study on one of the school that was not included in the actual study. Both qualitative andrnquantitative techniques were used to analyze the data collected. The Statistical Packages forrnSocial Scientists (SPSS) software package were utilized in analyzing the data. There were 180rnfilled questionnaires; 113 students, 59 for teachers and 13 for school principals for the study.rnThe data was presented in frequency tables and pie charts. The findings showed that physicalrnfacilities in the government primary schools in the administrative town are not enough for thernhigh pupils in the schools. There is very high pupils’ enrollment in the schools that is affectingrnthe quality of primary education in the government primary schools. The schools do not havernadequate instructional material that affects their quality of education. . The inappropriaternlearning techniques employed in the primary schools definitely affects the quality of PrimaryrnEducation. The teachers do not have the current learning techniques to offer to the pupils. Thernteacher –pupil ratio is very high since the number of pupils is always increasing whilerndeployment of teachers to cater for the new pupils. The researcher recommends that schoolrnprincipals should be sensitized by the education stakeholders that include the administrativerntown education office on the importance of instructional materials and learning techniques inrnprimary schools. The Education Bureau of Oromia Regional State need to build more primaryrnschools in the administrative town to cater for the high pupil’s enrolment. This will improve thernteacher-pupil ratio which is currently very high and as a result the quality of education willrnimprove. There seems a need to enforce laws by Education Bureau of Oromia and stakeholdersrnto guide the head teachers on the planning of schools
