Ethiopia is prone to recurrent drought and famine. Food insecurity and poverty are alsornintertwined with the country. The right to food is protected under international and regionalrnhuman right instruments that are ratified by Ethiopia. However, the right to food is not clearlyrnrecognized in the FDRE constitution as fundamental right of the people rather as state policyrnand objectives. There are also no subordinate proclamations or regulations that protect the rightrnto food in Ethiopia. In Seqota Woreda, due to reasons such as lack of enough food productionrnand lack of nutrition knowledge children are susceptible to both food and nutrition insecurity.rnThe government has taken measures to realize adequate food of a child however the problem isrnstill not resolved. This paper therefore examines the status of the right to food of a child inrnSeqota Woreda. It mainly assesses the practical impediments to realize the right to food, thernmeasures taken by the government, and possible solutions that helps to ensure the right tornadequate food of a child in Seqota Woreda.
