Return migration has different dimensions worth considering. Despite the fact that thisrnissue is an important factor having an impaC! on the countlY's socia-economic growth, rnnot much is known on Ihe dynamics of the phenomenon. Lack of research andrninformation regarding return migration is an important reason for the less emphasisrngiven to the issue. This study is therefore concerned with an assessment of returnrnmigration of Ethiopian migrants, in particular those who have migrated to Ihe weslernrncountries.rnAccordingly, as per the study, most went abroad mainly to improve their living standardsrnthrough education and to support their families back home, and due to the insecurity theyrnhad regarding political stability. On the other hand, aspirations to live and work back inrnEthiopia and fa mily ties were the main reasons for many to actuaily return home.rnRegarding re-illlegration, mosl have managed to re-integrate well back in Iheir homerncountlY both in the working system and in the community with some exceptions. Thernproblem may be attributed to change in structural value of the return migrants and thernresistant naillre of Ihe community itself. /n addition, as they have accumulated savingsrnfrom working abroad, most have been able to transfer jinancial capital and also humanrncapital as most of them have acquired skills and experience through the tertiwy trainingsrnIheyobtained. Finally, as the government 's illltiaLive including incentives and privilegesrnis appreciated, slill support is required.rnBy and large, this study attempted to jiilthe information gap due to lack of research byrngenerating information usejiil to identifY important policy concerns.
