The research has been done under the title â€œThe role of supply chain management informationrnsystem on humanitarian supply chain operations performance, The case of the United NationsrnWorld Food Programme, Ethiopiaâ€. This research applies a quantitative method, descriptivernstatistics and regression model as the research methodology. Similarly, out of the total 134 WorldrnFood Programme Ethiopia employees taken as a population of the study, questionnaires werernmade available to 100 of those selected employees (program, logistics, and procurement unit)rnusing a random sampling technique. Out of the total distributed questionnaires 72 responses werernobtained with a response rate of 72%. Data obtained through questionnaire has been analyzed byrnusing descriptive and regression model and related tests were used for data analysis using X&Yrnas independent variables and A&B as dependent variables. The analysis was supported by SPSSrn23 software. The result of the analysis revealed that planning, sourcing, warehousing system werernfound to be significant, the research identified the current supply chain management informationrnsystem practices that have an impact on overall supply chain management information systemsrnperformance of the World Food Programme namely; responsiveness, flexibility, reliability andrncooperation/standardization. Empirical findings of the study showed that World Food Programmernuses the required information systems to manage its planning, sourcing, logistics, and deliveryrnand monitoring and evaluation. However, there is a lack of using some technologies like GlobalrnPositioning System (GPS)on the contracted truck and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) onrnaid items that can facilitate the virtual management of the whole systems. In addition to this, thernWorld Food Programme should work more on the information systems to make it more accessiblernby any end-user (beneficiaries/implementing partner),and improve the flexibility of the systems tornmeasure the satisfaction level of beneficiaries by implementing partners is also anotherrnsuggestion. Moreover, improving the current warehouse system practices expected to furtherrnenhance the humanitarian supply chain operational performance. Finally, building a new systemrnthat can support the current logistics information system with the other systems makes the wholernsystem more efficient and can narrow the gap between the donors and the aid recipients.
