Sound industrial relations systems support the effort of buildingrncompetitive advantage. St. George Brewery managed to establish andrnmaintain relatively better industrial relations systems. The management,rnunion, and a significant proportion of employees have positive attitude torneach other. The management encourages unionization. It supports thernunion in many ways. The management considers the union asrnconsultant on matters of human resource management. There is a spiritrnof working in a manner of consultation, cooperation, and collaboration The union-management relations is based on pluralistic approach. They believe in resolving industrial disputesrnand conflicts internally. The majority of workers have trust andrnconfidence in the union. There is 100% union density.rnThe efforts exerted by the union enabled workers to secure annual salaryrnincrement, bonus, "Zenbil" system (every four months adjustment ofrnsalary), 24-hours life insurance, solidarity fund to cover medical expensernincluding medication abroad as deemed necessary, etc ... The unionrnestablished and is operating a share company. It is generating its ownrnincome through different business lines. It is providing employeesrnfinancial support every holiday, when an employee is pensioned andrnsuspended from work due to some reasons. The union and workersrnwidely share the idea that attaining more and more benefits is a functionrnof increased productivity, profitability and the growth of the company.rnThe management and majority of employees believe that the union h~srncontributed to establishing and maintaining peaceful industrial relations.rnOn average, combining results of the various measurement variables,rn71.9% of the respondents reported that the union is strong and thernexistence of it benefits employees in improving the economic and socialrnlife of employees.rnThe interaction of union and management in a matured and rationalrnmanner contributed in this regard.
