The Mediating Role Of Organizational Culture In The Relationship Between Professional Ethics And Organizational Performance In Selected Ethiopian Private Banks
This study examines The Mediating Role of Organizational Culture in the relationship betweenrnProfessional Ethics and Organizational Performance in selected Ethiopian private banks. Thernresearcher uses a non-experimental design; i.e. a descriptive survey to measure the study.rnQuestionnaire was used as data collection instrument. The study employed exploratory factorrnanalysis (EFA) through principal component analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) tornvalidate the results. Selected branches of 16 currently operating private banks werernchosen purposively to represent the banking industries; a proportional stratified sampling wasrnused and respondents of 293 were selected randomly. 280 usable responses were collected. Thernresult revealed that there is a significant correlation between professional ethics, organizationalrnculture and operational performance. The mediation analysis result of the study also shows thatrnorganizational culture partially (competitively) mediates the relationship between professionalrnEthics and operational performance. Therefore, regulatory bodies’ i.e. NBE, the banks officialsrnand managers of the bank should give emphasis on development of strong organizational culturernwhile implementing professional Ethics practice so that the banks operational performance wouldrnbe assured.
